Chocolate Smoothie Bowl


Makes 1 smoothie
 

INGREDIENTS
 

½ cup FUTURELIFE® Chocolate Flavoured Smart Food™

1 cup low fat milk

1 large banana, sliced and frozen

1 tbsp peanut butter 

1 tsp honey

1 tsp vanilla essence


Serving suggestion:

3 tbsp FUTURELIFE® Crunch Smart Food™ Chocolate

1 banana, sliced

½ cup fresh berries

2 tbsp desiccated coconut

2 tbsp peanut butter, melted

 

METHOD
 

  1. Blend all the ingredients together to make a delicious smoothie.

  2. Serve in a bowl garnished with FUTURELIFE® Smart Food™ Crunch, sliced banana, fresh berries, shredded coconut and a peanut butter drizzle and ENJOY!

 

Chocolate Crunch Muffin

Makes 12
 

INGREDIENTS
 

For the smoothie:

½ cup FUTURELIFE® Chocolate Flavoured Smart Food™

1 cup low fat milk

1 large banana, sliced and frozen

1 tbsp peanut butter 

1 tsp honey

1 tsp vanilla essence


For the muffin:

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup FUTURELIFE® Crunch Smart Food™ Chocolate

4 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 egg, beaten

4 tbsp coconut oil 

METHOD
 

For the smoothie:
 

  1. Blend all the ingredients together to make a delicious smoothie.
     

For the muffin:
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C and fill a 12-hole muffin tray with muffin liners.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, ½ a cup of the FUTURELIFE® Crunch Smart Food™ baking powder and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and coconut oil into the smoothie mixture. 

  4. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. *Chef’s Tip: Don’t overmix!

  5. Spoon the batter into each muffin liner until two-thirds full, and top each muffin with a sprinkle of the remaining ½ cup of FUTURELIFE® Crunch Smart Food™.

  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until an inserted skewer comes out clean.

  7. Serve while still warm and ENJOY! *Chef’s Tip: These muffins freeze well and can be defrosted in the microwave in a minute.

 

Double Chocolate Swirl Flapjacks

 

Makes 6-8
 

INGREDIENTS
 

For the smoothie:

½ cup FUTURELIFE® Chocolate Flavoured Smart Food™

1 cup low fat milk

1 large banana, sliced and frozen

1 tbsp peanut butter 

1 tsp honey

1 tsp vanilla essence
 

For the flapjacks:

2 eggs

Pinch of salt

¼ tsp baking powder

1 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp oil, for frying


Serving suggestion:

Plain yoghurt 

½ cup FUTURELIFE® Crunch Smart Food™ 

Mixed berries

Honey

 

METHOD
 

For the smoothie:

  1. Blend all the ingredients together to make a delicious smoothie.
     

For the flapjacks:

  1. Combine the smoothie mixture, eggs, salt and baking powder until smooth.

  2. Spoon a ¼ of the batter into a small bowl and mix the cocoa powder into this batch, making it a double-chocolate batter.

  3. Spoon this double-chocolate batter into a piping bag. 

  4. Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Use a ladle to pour the batter into the frying pan.

  5. Quickly, before it sets, pipe the double chocolate batter in a spiral pattern over each of the flapjacks. 

  6. When bubbles start to appear on the surface, flip the flapjack over using a spatula and cook the other side.

  7. Serve topped with a dollop of plain yoghurt, FUTURELIFE® Crunch Smart Food™, mixed berries and a drizzle of honey and ENJOY!
