Secret Centre Coconut Ladoo

Makes 60

INGREDIENTS
 

⅓ cup (120g) NESTLÉ Caramel Treat Dairy Dessert

2 cups desiccated coconut, fine

¾ cup NESTLÉ Full Cream Sweetened Condensed Milk

½ tsp ground cardamom

½ cup NESTLÉ cocoa powder

 

METHOD
 

  1. Line a tray with baking paper. Add the NESTLÉ Caramel Treat Dairy Dessert into a bowl and stir until creamy and lump-free. Spoon 60, ½ tsp sized blobs of caramel onto the tray and freeze for 3 hours until frozen solid.
     

  2. Add 2 cups of desiccated coconut into a large non-stick pan on medium heat and lightly toast until golden brown and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes, stir occasionally for even cooking. Add the toasted coconut to a bowl and allow to cool.
     

  3. Add the NESTLÉ Full Cream Sweetened Condensed Milk and cardamom to the toasted coconut. Stir the mixture continuously until it no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
     

  4. Use a teaspoon to scoop out 60 even sized coconut balls. Push a chilled caramel ball into the centre of a coconut ball and roll it between your palms to form a ball. Repeat until all coconut balls have a secret centre.
     

  5. Add the NESTLÉ cocoa powder to the lined tray used for caramel blobs. Roll the filled ladoo balls in the cocoa powder until evenly coated.
     

  6. Transfer the coated ladoo balls to a platter and ENJOY!
