Makes: 12

Hands-on time: 15 minutes

Hands-off time: 7 minutes

INGREDIENTS

3x20g sachets Nestlé Hot Chocolate Fudge Sundae and Chocolate Flavoured Drink OR Nestlé Hot Chocolate Creamy Marshmallow and Chocolate Flavoured Drink

1 cup fat-free milk

1 large egg yolk

2 tbsp corn flour

3 sheets phyllo pastry, defrosted

2 tbsp margarine, melted

Serving suggestion:

Strawberries

Nestlé Hot Chocolate Drink

METHOD

1. Add the Nestlé Hot Chocolate Fudge Sundae and Chocolate Flavoured Drink or Nestlé Hot Chocolate Creamy Marshmallow and Chocolate Flavoured Drink, milk, egg yolk and corn flour to a small pot at medium-low heat.

2. Continuously whisk for 1 minute until a thick, glossy custard has formed.

3. Transfer the hot custard to a bowl and cover with cling wrap, ensuring the plastic touches the surface, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

4. Preheat the oven to 190ºC and line a baking tray with baking paper.

5. Cut the phyllo sheets into 4 rectangles to achieve 12 small sheets. Add a leveled teaspoon of filling to the centre. Tuck in the sides of the pastry and tightly roll into a spring roll shape. The spring rolls should be around 5cm in length. Repeat for all 12 spring rolls. *Chef’s Tip: Avoid overfilling to prevent the spring rolls from leaking during baking!

6. Place the spring rolls, spaced out on the prepared baking tray and brush with the melted margarine.

7. Bake for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. *Chef’s Tip: Alternatively, aifry the spring rolls in batches for 5 minutes!

8. Allow the spring rolls to cool slightly before lightly dusting with extra hot chocolate powder. Serve with fresh strawberries and Nestlé Hot Chocolate and ENJOY!
