COOK TIME:
20 MINS
SERVINGS:

INGREDIENTS
4 (450g) chicken breasts, cut into strips
2 tsp portuguese seasoning mix
¼ cup MAGGI Hot Lazenby Worcestershire
½ white onion, diced
2 cups white cabbage, shredded
1 red bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tin (420g) crushed tomatoes
SERVING SUGGESTION:
Savoury rice
Coriander
METHOD
1. In a mixing bowl, add the chicken, 2 tablespoons of MAGGI Hot Lazenby Worcestershire and 2 teaspoons of Portuguese seasoning and mix until the chicken is evenly coated.
2. Heat a large pan to medium-low heat and add a little cooking oil.
3. Add the seasoned chicken and sauté for about 6-8 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
4. Add a little extra oil to the same pan along with the onion and cabbage and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the cabbage has wilted and softened slightly. Add the peppers and garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the tinned tomatoes and remaining 2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 4-5 minutes until the relish reduces slightly and comes together. Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and stir until combined. *Chef’s Tip: Use any quick-cooking veggies from your fridge!
5. Serve the chicken and relish over savoury rice. Garnish with fresh coriander, add a little extra worcestershire sauce and ENJOY!
Your heritage hot pot recipe instantly transported me back to family gatherings where we’d linger over simmering broth and share stories. I love the tip of layering aromatics first so every tofu cube and vegetable absorbs deeper flavor. Inspired, I’m planning a weekend hot-pot night and just filled my cart on https://umall.ua/ with a cast-iron pot, Sichuan peppercorns, kombu, and a cute ladle set—everything delivered in one go. Having the right tools makes home cooking feel like an event, and I can’t wait for my friends to experience that comforting, communal warmth around the table. Thanks for the inspiration today.
