INGREDIENTS

3 tbsp NESCAFÉ Classic Coffee (heaped)

3 cups (750ml) hot water (just off the boil)

¾ cup white sugar

SERVING SUGGESTION:

Whipped cream

Condensed milk

METHOD

1. In a heatproof bowl or jug, combine NESCAFÉ Classic and hot water. Stir well until completely dissolved. Add the sugar and whisk until the sugar dissolves completely.

2. Pour the coffee mixture into a shallow metal or glass dish (approximately 20x30 cm). Place in the freezer, uncovered, for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the mixture starts to freeze around the edges.

3. Using a fork, scrape the icy edges into the centre and stir to break up any large frozen chunks. Return to the freezer.

4. Every 30 minutes, scrape and stir the mixture again. Repeat this process 4 to 5 times, until the granita reaches a fluffy, crystalline consistency.

5. For best results, freeze the granita overnight. Fluff with a fork before serving.

6. Scoop into chilled glasses and serve immediately. Serve as-is or topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of condensed milk for a decadent twist and ENJOY!
