INGREDIENTS

1 roll (400g) puff pastry, defrosted
1 large egg, beaten
½ cup Nutella Hazelnut Chocolate Spread, plus extra for decorating

Serving suggestion:
Icing sugar
Strawberries

METHOD

1. Preheat the oven to 180° and line a baking tray with baking paper.

2. On a lightly floured surface, cut the puff pastry into 24, 1.5cmx22cm strips. Layer each strip through a skewer to form the shape of a Christmas tree. Ensure the base of the tree is 4cm and the layers above gradually get smaller. Place the pastry on the prepared baking tray, spaced out evenly. *Chef’s Tip: Be creative and create your own festive shapes!

3. Brush the top of each pastry with egg and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Once baked, allow the pastry to cool, remove the skewers and set aside.

4. Transfer the Nutella Hazelnut Chocolate Spread into a piping bag with a small-sized round nozzle. Carefully pipe about 1 teaspoon of Nutella into the pastry puff by inserting the nozzle into the base of the tree and squeezing until just filled. *Chef’s Tip: Alternatively, use a ziplock bag!

5. Arrange the pastry beautifully on a platter, dust with icing sugar, decorate with more Nutella and garnish with fresh strawberries and ENJOY!
